Daily activities in THAILAND (July 17th – August 15th 2016)

Day 1 – July 17th

I arrived at Don Mueang International airport at 13.35. I and some students from Indonesia named Evan, Rahmi, and Risa were picked up by four students from Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, they were Mat, Ing, Meen, and Pond. They are our buddy that will accompany us in  Thailand. We went to the VRU’s dormitory by van. I felt lucky because Meen is a Muslim, so I can ask him the direction to pray in the dormitory and also the time table of praying. I live at the dormitory with 16 students from Indonesia and 2 students from Philippine that join SEAMEO – SEATEACHER programs.

After praying, we went to Tesco Lotus Mart to buy simcard and data to communicate with people in Indonesia, especially parents and lecture to report about the activities that we did here.

Day 2 – July 18th

Today Risa and I plan to walk around Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University to know more about this university. We got the information where is Faculty of Education, Family Mart (open 24 hours), Library, swimming pool, café, wifi area etc. In the afternoon, we went to the market near university (Kong Luang Market), this is my favorite place to find food for dinner, because this market is open from 3 p.m until 8 or 9 p.m. I went there to buy foods almost everyday.

Day 3 – July 19th

Ajarn Tangmo and Ajarn Aranya visited us in dormitory and gave us some foods for breakfast, they also lend us a ricecooker and stove, so that we can cook rice or other foods.
Because today is still holiday, so we planned to go to Ayutthaya Province. We went to Ayutthaya by van, and in Ayutthaya we use Tuktuk (it looks like Bajaj in Indonesia) to going around Ayutthaya. We went to Ayutthaya at 10.10 a.m. I went to Ayutthaya with Rahmi, Evan, Risa, Olivia, Mat, Mat’s Aunt, Ing, and Ing’s Aunt. We went to several wat (temples), like Wat Chaiwattanaram, Wat Phu Khao Thong, Wat Tha Ka Rong, we also went to the elephant conservation.

We did something interesting there, we pretended to be Thai people so that we could get the cheaper price of the entrance ticket. But when we were entering the temple, we have to keep silent. 555
We ate Pad Thai as the dinner, it was a traditional food from Thailand and it was very delicious.
